If you have embarked on a healthy 2017, you will no doubt be trying to improve your fitness as well as your health. As improving fitness is a very long and winding road to go down, you will need something to help you document this journey. It’s a good idea to track your fitness for various levels. Firstly, it will help you stay motivated, as it can show you just how far you have come. But mainly, you need to track your fitness so that you can make sure that all your workouts and routines are working as they should be. So how exactly do you keep on track? Here are some tools that can help you track everything.

Diary

It is important that you keep a diary of all your physical activity. Even if you just jot down what you did on each day of the week. This then allows you to compare your weeks to make sure you are always maintaining the same level of activity. It’s also a good idea to plot out your other commitments into your diary, such as work and family responsibilities. This then makes it easier to see when you can fit in your workouts and training sessions.

Charts

Some people like to refer to anatomy and physiology charts when trying to track their fitness. These are especially good if you want to make sure that your body is developing along the lines that it should once it starts to get fitter. There are various charts that you can buy, including muscle charts. Some even come with diagrams of certain exercises that you should do if you want to focus on one particular aspect of your body.

Fitbit

If you like your tech, then you will love Fitbits. These stylish bracelets keep a track of all the calories that you burn during your workout. That’s not all, though, but you can also program yours so that it calculates how your daily calorific intake affects your health and fitness. Once you put your Fitbit on, you don’t have to do anything as it records everything for you! At the end of the day, you can review your activity and see if you burnt off enough considering your day’s calorie intake.

Apps

There are also plenty of apps out there which you can use to keep an eye on our fitness and workouts. For example, if you are a keen runner or cyclist, you can download Strava, which will record lots of data of your runs or bike rides. The app tracks how far and how fast you go. Not only that, but it also tracks how high you climb if you are running or biking over hills. These kinds of apps can help you compare your workout sessions and figure out what is working for you, and what isn’t.

It’s important that you track your fitness so that you can see just how much you progress. Hopefully, all of these tools will help you out!
